    Faith in the D

Detroit is filled with a variety of religious and faith backgrounds. Each year, University Ministry partners with a local organization to let students experience different religious traditions, participate in inter-religious dialogue, and try a variety of foods, snacks, and cultural experiences. This interfaith event is inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical Fratelli Tutti, which invites us to care and love our fellow brothers and sisters, and recognizes there is truth in all religions. This interfaith event allows participants to learn and grow with each other, and experience Detroit in a new way.

For more information, please contact University Ministry at ministry@udmercy.edu or 313-993-1560.

    Ecumenical Service

Focusing on the unity of all Christian traditions, University Ministry hosts an Ecumenical Worship Service at the McNichols Campus during the winter semester. The service is celebrated by a local pastor in the Detroit Area. Music is led by a praise and worship band, and select students are invited to give testimonials of the way faith has influenced their lives. Attendees are invited to stay and enjoy food afterwards, celebrating times of community together.

For more information, please contact Anna Bryson at lawleran@udmercy.edu or 313-993-1560.

    Interfaith Dinner

University Ministry’s interfaith dinner is a time for people of all faith backgrounds to come together for celebration, connection and awareness. The halal, kosher and intercultural dinner is held the first week of February, Interfaith Harmony week.
