Training and exercise is a very important part of our everyday life. It is well-known that exercise can help maintain a healthy lifestyle and a better health for humans. However, not all types of trainings area considered healthy and best for the health. A study was conducted on all the different training programs and training routines to help identify the negative impact that they might cause on the body.
The study conducted by a team of researchers was published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness. The results showed that there is an increased risk of injuries for people who perform high intensity interval trainings. These routines includes the involvement in aerobic exercises, calisthenics and weight lifting.
The study was led by a physician in the department of orthopedics at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School called Joseph Ippolito. Joseph was concerned with the severity of the results commenting, “These workouts are marketed as ‘one size fits all.’ However, many athletes, especially amateurs, do not have the flexibility, mobility, core strength and muscles to perform these exercises.”
The study included the use of data from over 9 years of injuries through adults. The results showed a total of 3,988,902 injuries that were caused from the use of equipment with high intensity. The data also showed that most men who suffer from injuries during trainings are from the age range of 20 to 39.
