Former Titan Ben Kendell qualifies for U.S. Olympic Trials

Former Detroit Mercy track and field and cross country standout Ben Kendell ’18, ’19 has earned a bid to the U.S. Olympic Trials in the marathon, which will be held on Feb. 3, 2024 in Orlando, Fla.

Kendell earned the opportunity to participate qualifying with a time of 2:15:49 at the California International Marathon on Dec. 4. He will be the fifth male Titan to compete in the U.S. Olympic trials.

The Titan harrier and College of Engineering & Science graduate had an outstanding collegiate career for Detroit Mercy from 2014-2019 in cross country and track and field, earning the University's President’s Award for the top senior student-athlete and the Horizon League’s Coleman Medal of Honor, presented annually to the league’s top student-athletes who best exemplify the dignity and high purpose of the league and its membership, in 2019.
