Detroit Mercy's undergraduate nursing program earns national rank in U.S. News & World Report's 2022 rankings

海角大神’s undergraduate nursing program was ranked in the top 150 nationally by U.S. News & World Report, receiving a No. 148 rank in the Nursing category of 2022 “Best Colleges” rankings. The rankings were released by the publication Sept. 13.

“The McAuley School of Nursing has an 80-year history of preparing highly qualified, competent and compassionate baccalaureate nurses prepared to lead healthcare during these dynamic and changing times,” said Janet Baiardi, interim dean and professor of the College of Health Professions & McAuley School of Nursing. “A Detroit Mercy nursing education lays the foundation for success. The nursing program’s ranking in the ‘Best Colleges’ of the U.S. News & World Report is a testament to that achievement.”

Detroit Mercy was one of five undergraduate nursing programs in the state to be included in the top-150 in the “Best Colleges” rankings.

This ranking is the second national ranking Detroit Mercy’s College of Health Professions & McAuley School of Nursing has received this year. In January, the University’s online graduate nursing program ranked No. 115 by U.S. News & World Report. It was one of only four programs in Michigan on the list.

The College of Health Professions & McAuley School of Nursing offer three 100% online graduate nursing specialties: Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS), Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and Health Systems Management (HSM).

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and Master of Science in Nursing program were also ranked among the nation’s elite in the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate School Rankings” released on March 30, 2021. The DNP program ranked No. 94, while the Master of Science in Nursing program earned a No. 104 ranking.

Overall, this is the third year in a row that Detroit Mercy also ranked among the top 200 national universities in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Detroit Mercy ranked fourth in the state and was the highest independent university in Michigan.
